Actress Kavya is returning to films after a break.
Malayalis always appreciated the talent of Kavya madhavan and missed her a lot after her marriage.
Actress Kavya Madhavan, is back to work with director Anil Kunjappan's 'Ente Amma'.
The film tells about the relationship between a mother and her only son and is an emotional family drama.
The actress got married to Nishal Chandra earlier this year but her marriage ended in just five months. Earlier she decided to quit movie industry after marriage.

The prominent roles in the movie are handled by Biju Menon, Jagathy Sreekumar, Sona Nair and Bindu Panikkar etc.

With the screening of Turkish irector Atilt Inac's film 'A step into Darkness' as the inaugural film ,the 14th International Film Festival of Kerala-2009 (IFFK) will be kicked off at Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) on December 11.

In the competition section, 14 films, including two Malayalam films would be screened. Malyalam film Pazhassiraja of Hariharan had been included in the world cinema category.Kerala cafe also included in IFFK.
164 films in 11 categories would be screened in the eight-day-long film extravaganza, which would conclude on December 18.
The best film would receive a golden peacock and a cash prize of Rs ten lakh.
The director of the winning film, debutant director, the director of the best film selected by the viewers would receive a silver peacock and Rs three, Rs two and Rs one lakh respectively, he added.
Sri Lankan Director Prasanna Withrarenge, Congolese filmmaker Balufu, Indian film maker Mamtha Sanker, Al Khalisi, Egyptian Director would be the other jury members.
In retrospective section films by Mexican director Arturo Ripstein, Japan's Mikio Naruse, France's Jacques Tati, and Mrinal Sen and Lohitadas and Italian director Francesco Rosi had been included.
Besides this, seven films each from Indian cinema today and Malayalam cinema today would be screened in the festival.

Mammootty dons a double role in this movie Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Kadha..Debutante Mythili is doing the character, Manikyam.
The movie is based on writer T P Rajeevan's novel ‘Paleri Manikyam’.Megastar Mamooty and Director Ranjith join again in this movie.

The storyline goes like this: Haridas, a private detective, is investigating the murder of a young woman, Manikyam, which happened over 50 years back. The incident happened in a place called ‘Paleri’ near Kozhikode.Haridas is assisted by Sarayu Sharma, a criminologist, in the investigation.

Media reports that Nokia had partnered with India Music Industry, a consortium of over 150 music companies to give opportunity to customers to discover and enjoy their favourite music.
The music lovers can now access and download music to their handset directly from Nokia music store online. Nokia launched its online Music Store in Kerala offering music lovers access to over 30 lakh international, Bollywood and regional soundtracks across 20 genres.
Customers can utilize the Nokia music store (http://music.nokia.co.in) via inbox vouchers included in all XpressMusic handsets and select Nseries and ESeries mobile devices. There were plans to launch vouchers ranging from Rs 25 to Rs 200.
The store has a rich catalogue of music from the state ranging from the legendary Yesudas to M G Sreekumar and S Janaki, K S Chitra, Jyotsna among others.
A customer can listen to 30 second clip of any track on the store before downloading it and can also browse for new music. Users will be able to download directly to a mobile device without having to download the same song again on their computer.

Pazhassi Raja will be released in as many as five languages and in an astounding number of 500 centers across the world.The epic Malayalam movie Pazhassi Raja by M T Vasudevan Nair, directed by Hariharan and title role handled by Mammootty to release internationally on the 2nd of October. 5 Rules to save Malayalam cinema

The Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) has come up with five rules to save the 'flop' hit Malayalam film industry.These rules are meant to cut down the cost of making films and to ensure the discipline on the sets.
Here are the rules
  • A Malayalam film should not cost more than Rs.3.5 crores
  • No Malayalam film should be shot longer than 45 days.
  • Only 60 raw film rolls can be used to shoot a Malayalam film.
  • The shooting should commence at 7 am.
  • Only the producer is allowed to use a mobile phone on the sets.

SWINE FLU FACTS
  • Swine flu, that is H1N1 flu is not new, first detected in 1987.
  • Infective stage of flue is 5 days, 1 day before and 4 days after onset of symptoms.
SWINE FLU SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

The symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include
  • fever
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • body aches
  • headache
  • chills
  • fatigue.
  • Some have diarrhea and vomiting associated with swine flu.

TRANSMISSION
The main route of transmission of the new influenza A (H1N1) virus seems to be similar to seasonal influenza, via droplets that are expelled by speaking, sneezing or coughing. You can prevent getting infected by avoiding close contact with people who show influenza-like symptoms (trying to maintain a distance of about 1 metre if possible).
Fever accompanied by respiratory distress, should be immediately notified which is likely to be a complication of H1N1 flu

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

  • Avoid touching your mouth and nose;
  • Clean hands thoroughly with soap and water, or cleanse them with an alcohol-based hand rub on a regular basis (especially if touching the mouth and nose, or surfaces that are potentially contaminated);
  • Avoid close contact with people who might be ill;
  • Reduce the time spent in crowded settings if possible;
  • Improve airflow in your living space by opening windows;
  • Practice good health habits including adequate sleep, eating nutritious food, and keeping physically active.
  • We need to take care of children and elderly who have less immunity and do not let them go to crowded places at all.

ARE THERE MEDICINES TO TREAT SWINE FLU?

  • Yes. The US CDC recommends certain medicines for the treatment and/or prevention of infection with these swine influenza viruses.
  • Antiviral drugs are prescription medicines (pills, liquid or an inhaler) that fight against the flu by keeping flu viruses from reproducing in your body.
  • If you get sick, antiviral drugs can make your illness milder and make you feel better faster. They may also prevent serious flu complications.
  • For treatment, antiviral drugs work best if started soon after getting sick (within 2 days of symptoms).
WHAT DO I EXPECT AT THE QUARANTINE?
The quarantine area is a hospital ward.
The hospital provides a bed and masks to you. You need to wear a mask all the time. Carry a mobile phone so that you can reach your family using the phone. Ask your family members to get you food, water and tea/coffee/milk. You can take your laptop and reading material so that you can spend your time well during your stay at the hospital.
Toilets are common for the ward. There is no hot water in the bathroom, so taking bath is optional. J Your family members cannot meet you. They can meet the attendant and hand over your tiffin to the attendant. The attendant will hand over the tiffin to you.
If your young child is infected, you can help her/him by being with her/him in the quarantine. You cannot get out during the mandatory period. You need to take medication to prevent the infection and also wear a mask at all times.
